Skyline Houston

One of the most photographed skylines of Houston is the one from Sabine Park. Shooting during sunset makes the skyline even more interesting. However, shooting photos during sunset or at night carries a risk of being mugged. The security of a group of photographers mitigates this risk. Tonight’s fieldtrip to the Sabine Street Bridge was already rescheduled because of an overcast sky last week. This week’s weather forecast didn’t look much better because it predicted again a 50% cloud cover. Luckily this didn’t stop me.

The advantage of going to this location on a Friday night, is that the cleaning crew turn on the lights and maybe still some people are working late. On a Saturday night the lights are on in significantly less offices.

By now I started wondering why the weather forecast predicted a 50% cloud cover. The wind was quite strong which gave the special cloud-effect at an exposure of 13 seconds.
