Speed (Motocross)

For one of the photography groups I recently joined, on off the assignments is ‘speed’. Just shooting cars in the street where I live is not very exciting. Luckily another photo group (meetup.com – Photowalks) planned a trip to the Memorial Day Classic Motocross in Conroe. Conroe is about an hour drive from Houston.

The event took place at ‘Three Palms Extreme Sports Park’ which is, as their website says, in the country. This park has four motocross tracks which are spread out over a large area. Most people already arrived with their RVs the day before when most of the training sessions were scheduled.

Eventually this is the shot I was waiting for: a motor flying while I was panning to take the photo.

After and between the race(s) there is a bit of cleaning, it is a dirt track after all.
