Hobby Airport

Houston has two well know airports, i.e. International and Hobby. Hobby airport is named after William P. Hobby, who was 27th Governor of the U.S. state of Texas from 1917 to 1921. Hobby airport began service in 1927. In 1940, the air terminal was completed, in an art deco style. Today this terminal is a museum and the airport is used for domestic flights.

Today’s fieldtrip went to the museum. Some experimental airplanes were parked outside the terminal, where the museum itself presented the history of air travel at Hobby airport.

I shot the photo below with my 10-22mm lens. It is amazing how close I got to the wing. The tip of the wing was about one foot away from my lens.
